Tracker blocking
Ads are the visible part. The Privacy page shows the rest: the analytics that record what you do on sites, the telemetry apps and devices send home, and the tracking pixels social networks put on other sites.
Counts stay on your PC. Allowed lookups are never recorded.
Use cases
When you'll reach for it — Tracker blocking
Real situations, not a feature list.
- Stop the Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight following you from site to site.
- Switch on Device & app telemetry to stop Windows and Office reporting usage back home.
- See which analytics services the apps on your PC report to.
- Allow one analytics domain a work tool genuinely needs.
What it does
Everything Tracker blocking handles
Built into AdBolish, and on by default where it should be.
Analytics
Services that record what you do on sites, blocked along with ads by Ads & trackers.
Social tracking pixels
The Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight and the like, on sites that aren't the social network's own.
Device & app telemetry
Usage reporting built into Windows, Office, phones, smart TVs and TikTok. Off by default; one switch at the top of the page.
Trackers stopped
Every tracker network with its category (Analytics, Telemetry or Social), blocks, domains and share.
Allow a domain
Click a network to see its domains, and Allow one to add it to your exclusions.
How it works
Using it, step by step
- 1
Open Privacy
It's in the sidebar's Protection section, after Ad networks.
- 2
Decide on telemetry
Turn on Device & app telemetry in the Tracker blocking card if you want vendor telemetry blocked too.
- 3
Read who was stopped
Trackers stopped lists each network. Click one to see the domains it tried.
Under the hood
How it actually works
What each part covers.
- Analytics & social
- Blocked by Ads & trackers (on the Ad networks page), on by default
- Telemetry
- Device & app telemetry list, off by default
- Categories
- Analytics, Telemetry, Social
- Scope
- Every browser and app on this PC
Device & app telemetry may affect some vendor features, which is why it starts off. Most trackers are caught by the same list as ads; ones AdBolish doesn't recognise by name are counted on Ad networks.
