Content filters
Content filters block whole kinds of sites on your PC, in every browser and app: Adult, Gambling and Social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and other social networks). They're off unless you turn them on.
Turning them on
The Content filters card at the top of the page has a switch for each: Social media, Gambling (Betting, casino and lottery sites.) and Adult (Pornography and other adult content.). This is the only place to turn them on. A list that isn't on your PC yet says Downloads when turned on and arrives a moment later.
What they blocked
Sites blocked by content filters lists each blocked site with its Category, Blocks, Domains and Share of blocks. Click one to see its domains below. While every filter is off it says Turn on a filter above to block these sites in every browser and app.
What usually goes wrong
- A filtered site still opens in one browser. That browser is probably using its own secure DNS. See Browsers and secure DNS.
- Something unrelated broke after turning a filter on. Social media especially also covers sign-in and sharing buttons on other sites. Use Fixing a broken site, or turn the filter off.
