Fixing a broken site

When a page won't load, a video won't play, or an app can't sign in, this page shows what AdBolish blocked just now so you can let it through.

Opening it

Click Site broken? at the top of Overview, Realtime or Exclusions, or right-click the tray icon and choose Something broken? Allow a site….

Using it

  1. Reload the broken page or retry the app, then look at Is a site or app not working?
  2. The list shows domains blocked in the Last minute, grouped by site. Switch to Last 10 minutes to look further back.
  3. Pick the domain that looks related to what broke:
    • Allow for 1 hour: allowed for now. AdBolish blocks it again afterwards. When in doubt, choose this.
    • Always allow: adds it to your exclusions for good.
  4. Reload the page.

Temporary allows appear under Allowed for now with the minutes left. Block now ends one early.

What usually goes wrong

  • "Nothing was blocked in the last minute." Reload the broken page, then come back. Click Look further back to see ten minutes.
  • Nothing here looks related, and the site is still broken. Use Pause 5 min at the top of Overview. If the site works while paused, AdBolish is the cause: allow domains one at a time from this page. If it's still broken while paused, AdBolish isn't the cause.

Fix a broken site — see what it does

When a page won't load or an app can't sign in, AdBolish shows what it blocked in the last minute, grouped by site, so you can allow it for an hour or for good. Learn more about the Fix a broken site.
